Connect Wd My Cloud Directly To Mac

  • First, perform the hardware setup by following the instructions given below.
  • Usually, an AC power adapter, an Ethernet cable, a quick install guide, and the WD My Cloud Personal Cloud Storage Device are provided with the WD My Cloud device package.
  • Now, connect the WD My Cloud Storage Device to the power source using the AC power adapter.
  • Link the My Cloud device to your network router or switch using the Ethernet cable.
  • Now, connect your Mac device to the same network router or switch that the WD My Cloud device is connected to.
  • The My Cloud device hardware setup is now done.
  • Finish the entire setup by completing the software configuration on your Mac device.
  • Download the My Cloud Setup software from the WD device’s official site.
  • Once the My Cloud Setup software is downloaded successfully, double-click on it.
  • Now, a confirmation dialog box will appear on your Mac system’s screen, click the Open button on it.
  • The My Cloud window will appear, click the Get Started button in it.

  • The setup software will try to detect the connected WD My Cloud drive.
  • Once it is done, a window prompting you to set up your personal cloud will appear on the screen.
  • Fill the text fields with valid data and click the Next button.
  • Once the account is created successfully, the account details will be displayed on the screen.
  • Click the Next button followed by Finish.
  • Now, complete the remaining set of the software installation steps by following the on-screen instructions.
  • Make sure to enter your Mac device’s security key when prompted during the installation.
