  • This time, you need to perform the reverse process.
  • First, place the new control board into your old WD hard drive.
  • Tighten the screw(s) properly and close the drive cover.
  • Now, connect your external hard drive to the computer and open it.
  • Try to access the data present on your hard drive.
  • If you can access all the information, then you have successfully rescued data from 3TB WD My Book external hard drive.
