Steps to format WD Easystore for macOS

WD Easystore is an external drive that is portable and is available in 1 TB, 2 TB, 3 TB, 4 TB, and 5 TB capacities. You can easily back up your personal data like photos, videos, and documents into the external drive. To use it with a Mac device, you have to format WD Easystore and install the WD Backup software. You will need a USB 3.0 or 2.0 cable to connect the drive and Mac device. The WD Easystore external drive is compatible with both Mac and Windows operating systems.   • Make sure to connect the WD Easystore drive to your Mac device.
  • Plug in one of a USB cable to the WD Easystore external drive.
  • Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB port on your Mac device.
  • Open Finder to check whether you can access your drive.    
  • Click on the Search icon at the top-right corner of the screen to open Spotlight.
  • Type “Disk Utility” in the Search section, and open it.
  • You can view the external drive connected to your Mac device.
  • Right-click on the WD Easystore drive on the left panel.
  • Select the Erase option from the displayed list.
  • Give a suitable name for the external drive in the Name section.
  • Choose the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) option in the Format section. Then, click on the Erase button.
  • You have now successfully format WD Easystore for Mac device.
  • After formatting, install the WD Backup software on your Mac device.
  • You can now copy all the important files to your WD Easystore external drive.
