Method 1:

  • Connect the WD Easystore drive to your Mac device and turn on the power.
  • Click the Disk Utility icon from the Dock. Otherwise, type disk utility in the Spotlight search section and double-click on it to open Disk Utility.
  • If you can’t find Disk Utility, go to the Applications folder and select the Utilities option. Then, select the Disk Utility folder.
  • Select the External hard drive and click the Erase icon. Otherwise, right-click on the WD Easystore drive and select the Erase option from the displayed list.
  • When prompted for confirmation, select the Format as “Mac OS Extended” option from the list. Enter a name and give a size for the WD Easystore drive. Click on the Erase button.
  • All the files on the WD Easystore drive will be deleted.

  • If the files on the WD Easystore drive doesn’t get deleted, go to the Disk Utility folder.
  • Select your drive and click the Partition tab.
  • Now, choose the Partition Layout and give a name to the partition.
  • In the Format section, select the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) option from the drop-down list.
  • Enter the size in TB format. Then, click on the Options tab.
  • Select the GUID Partition Table to choose a partition scheme and select OK.
  • Click on the Apply button to format the files on the WD Easystore.
