How To Reset My Wd Cloud

To reset your MY Cloud device, perform the simple steps given below.

  • You can do the four or forty seconds reset on your WD My Cloud device based on your need.
  • The four seconds reset process will reset the information such as Admin password and Network Mode.
  • At the same time, the forty seconds reset process will restore the following settings:

    Admin user name, admin password, device name, SSH, remove all guest users, all share permission, network mode, remove all alerts, mobile app account association, WD Sync association, Backup jobs, and Safepoint jobs.

Steps to perform the 4-seconds reset

  • Turn off your WD My Cloud device.
  • Locate the Reset button on your WD My Cloud device.
  • Using a paper clip or a narrow tipped pen, press and hold down the Reset button for four seconds.
  • After four seconds, release the Reset button.
  • Once the reset process is initiated, your WD My Cloud device will start to reboot.
  • It may take five (5) to six (6) minutes for the reboot process to complete.
  • Once the reboot process is done, the Power light will become solid blue.
  • Now, you can re-configure your WD My Cloud device as per your need.

Step to perform 40 seconds reset

  • The procedure for this method is the same as the above.
  • The only difference is that your have to hold the Reset button for 40 seconds instead of 4 seconds.
  • After the WD My Cloud reboots, perform the configuration by following the on-screen instructions.
