Step 1

Connect the WD My Cloud drive’s power adapter to a wall outlet.

Setup WD My Cloud For Windows

Step 2

  • Take an Ethernet cable and then connect it between the rear port of the WD My Cloud drive and the Ethernet port of your wireless router.
  • Wait until the LED on the drive turns blue.

Step 3

  • Open Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or any other browser on your Windows computer/laptop that is connected to the wireless network.
  • Access the WD Learning Center web page, navigate to the WD Products, select the WD My Cloud drive.
  • Click the Download Setup Software button followed by the Save File option to download the setup file of WD My Cloud.
  • Double-click the downloaded setup file to start the installation.

Step 4

  • As soon as the installation wizard starts, click the Get Started option.
  • If needed, review the terms and conditions of the WD software.
  • Accept the ‘Western Digital End User License Agreement’ by selecting the ‘I accept the terms of this license agreement’ option.
  • Click Next -> Next -> Next.
  • Provide your information such as name and email address in the appropriate fields.
  • If required, select the ‘Also register WD My Cloud with this information’ option.
  • Click Next -> Next.
  • Select the ‘Install the WD My Cloud application’ option and click Finish.

Step 5

  • Select Yes when you see a prompt dialog box on the screen.
  • When the License Agreement window opens, agree with the terms and conditions of the WD software and click Install.
  • Once you see the ‘WD My Cloud has been successfully installed’ message, click the Done option.

Step 6

  • Launch the WD My Cloud application on the Windows computer.
  • Click WDMyCloud and sign in to your WD account using the correct login credentials.
