  • To Upload Photos to WD My Cloud Device Guidance. Connect the photo sync option directly to your WD My Cloud network.
  • You can use either: 
  • SMB file transfer protocol (windows Network)
  • FTP file transfer protocol
  • Launch your web browser and open the WD my cloud setup page.
  • Click on my cloud administration to ensure your computer or smartphone is configured correctly.
  • Click Settings in the My Cloud administrator.
  • The option will show you a list of settings to make any changes.
  • Select Network Settings.
  • The Network settings will show the type of connection made and also display both the Mac and IP addresses.
  • Set the network mode to static.
  • Set the FTP access to On.
  • Secure Shell (SSH) to On.
  • Do not make any changes in the Windows services field.
  • Click the Shares tab displayed at top of the administrative window.
  • Select the Photos option on the left pane.
  • In Share Profile fields,
  • Enter Share Name
  • Enter Share Description
  • Set the public access to On.

In Share Access,

  • Set the FTP access switch to On.
  • The NFS access is Off. (By default)

Click the Photosync settings, Configure > FTP, and set up a new configuration as given below.

  • Protocol- FTP
  • Server- The WD my cloud IP address
  • Port- 20
  • Login- The WD my cloud username
  • Password- The WD my cloud password
  • Directory- (none)
  • FTP Mode- Passive or Automatic

Set the same configuration settings on your smartphone or computer as follows:.

  • Protocol- FTP
  • Server- The WD my cloud IP address
  • Port- 20
  • Login- The WD my cloud username
  • Password- The WD my cloud password
  • Directory- (none)
  • FTP- Mode Passive or Automatic
  • Click Save. On the My Cloud administration page, click Sync.
  • The photos will now upload from your computer or smartphone to your WD My Cloud.
