How to use WD My Passport Wireless Pro
  • The first step is to connect your WD My Passport Wireless Pro using a USB cable to your computer. Once you have connected it, click This PC icon on the desktop of your computer.
  • Once it open, under Devices and drives, you can see the My Passport device that you connected just now. It might be displayed as My Passport (D:).
  • Now, you can double-click the My Passport (D:) and then navigate to the files within it.
  • You can now easily switch to the wireless mode.
  • Unplug the device and pull the wire out.
  • Now, press the power button on the device. It will start booting up in the wireless mode.
  • While the My Passport device is booting up, the LED will be blinking white.
  • We can find out that the booting process is over when the Wi-Fi LED turns blue.
  • When the My Passport device starts broadcasting, you can connect to it using Wi-Fi.
  • After you have paired the My Passport device, under Networks, below Wi-Fi, you can see your My Passport device.
  • You can now be sure that the device is connected.
  • Navigate to This PC and then click the Network option from the left pane.
  • In the Network window, under Computer, you will be able to view the MY Passport device.
  • Now, double-click the device, and you can find two folders – Public and sd.
  • You can browse the SD card from here.
  • Close all the windows.
  • Open the default web browser on your computer and type “My Passport.” Press Enter.
  • You will find yourself on the admin page. On this page, you can conveniently change the settings of your My Passport Wireless Pro device.
