WD Discovery backup is an application that holds a collection of drive management tools. It includes both WD Security and WD Backup apps. The WD Discovery app can be installed during the external storage drive setup. If you wish to install the WD Discovery app, follow the below-mentioned steps.

First, connect your WD storage drive to the computer.
Navigate to the drive location and give a double-click on the WD Discovery extension file.
Click the Install Now button and follow the instructions displayed on the setup screen to complete the installation process.
Update the apps to the latest version if necessary.
Alternatively, you can download the WD Discovery backup from the official WD site.
On the official site, navigate to the support page and choose the Downloads tab.
Click the Software for Windows or Software for Mac link and click the Add icon near the Install WD Discovery for Windows column.
Click on the Download button to get the WD Discovery app on your computer.
It will download as an extension file for Windows and .dmg file for Mac operating systems.
After installing the WD Discovery app, a shortcut icon will be created at the toolbar for easy access.

The WD Backup application comes with the WD Discovery app by default. You can access the WD Backup app to create a backup of your system file from the computer to the WD storage device. If you aren't able to access the WD app on the WD Discovery app, download it from the official site using the below-mentioned steps.

• Open the default browser on your computer and navigate to the official WD site.
• Navigate to the support page and click the Software for Windows or Software for Mac tab.
• Select the Add icon near the WD Backup column and click the Download button to download the app.
• After installing the app, you can easily backup your files.
• You can schedule your desired WD discovery backup process based on the time of a day, day of the week, or month.
