The WD General Network Error 500 error may occur on your iPhone showing “The operation couldn’t be completed” message. Proceed with the steps given below to fix the WD General Network error.

  • Try reinstalling the WD application and check whether the error pops up again.
  • Uninstall or deactivate any active security or firewall programs installed on the iPhone.
  • Open the WD Photos app to verify whether you can view the photos on the WD drive.
  • In case the “No photos found” message is displayed, the issue has not been resolved. 
  • Launch the My Cloud app to view the contents on the drive from your iPhone.
  • If you can’t view any files, try to connect the WD drive to another device.
  • If you can view the files from the other device, the problem lies with your iPhone.
  • Upgrade the operating system of your iPhone to the latest version. 
  • Ensure that you have an active internet connection to avoid connection issues while updating.
  • Update the WD firmware from your iPhone.
  • If the WD General Network Error 500 iphone issue persists, disconnect the WD drive device and reconnect it. 
  • Check whether the cable connecting the WD drive and router is defective. Replace the cable if it is damaged.
  • Uninstall the WD My Cloud application from your iPhone.
  • Go to the App Store and reinstall the application.
  • Type My Cloud in the Search section of your App Store and select WD My Cloud from the results.
  • Tap on the Get icon next to the application to install it on your device.
  • Make sure to connect your iPhone to the same wireless network as your WD drive.
  • If your internet connection is active, you will be able to access all the files from the WD drive.
  • Open the WD My Cloud app to view the WD drive contents from your iPhone.
