- Before installing the WD My Cloud app on your Mac device, first, complete the physical connection setup of the hard drive.
- To do it, read the simple steps given below and proceed with the same.
- Connect your WD My Cloud device to the wall outlet using a power cable.
- After that, connect the WD My Cloud device to your wireless router using an Ethernet cable.
- Once you have done the connectivity setup, power on your WD My Cloud hard drive, wireless router, and the Mac system.
- Now, from your Mac device’s web browser, navigate to the WD hard drive’s support page.
- Locate and select the WD My Cloud.
- Click the Download Setup Software tab.
- Now, the WD My Cloud software file will start to download. Wait for the download process to complete.
- Once the WD My Cloud software file is downloaded, open it.
- Click the Get Started button.
- Accept the end-user license agreement and click the Next button.
- Perform the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
- When prompted, enter your Mac device’s password in the given field and click the OK button.
- Once the WD My Cloud application is installed successfully on your Mac device, all the Western Digital hard drives connected to the system will be displayed on the screen.
- You can view the status of your Western Digital hard drive using the My Cloud application.
- Locate and click the Call button available on this screen to get remote assistance in downloading and installing the WD My Cloud app on your Mac device.
