- Check if you can access the WD My Clouds drive on your local network.
- If not, re-configure both the WD My Cloud drive and network correctly.
- Ensure that the WD My Cloud drive has internet access.
- Configure a notification email and send a test email. If you receive the email, the WD My Cloud drive has internet access.
- Once done, sign in to the Web UI page of the WD My Cloud drive and go to the Settings/General section.
- Scroll down to the Cloud Access section and turn on the toggle switch next to the Remote Access option.
- Check if you can see the Connected message on the screen.
- Also, the ‘Port Forwarding Connection Established’ message will appear on the screen.
- If not, proceed with further instructions.
- If your wireless router does not support UPnP, you must configure port forwarding manually.
- If all the instructions mentioned above do not resolve the ‘WD My Cloud cannot connect remotely’ problem, perform the steps given here.
