WD My Cloud Configuration

Step-1: Device Connection

  • The whole WD My Cloud kit contains the My Cloud storage device, Ethernet cable, and AC adapter. 
  • Connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port of the device and the other end to your router.
  • Next, connect the AC adapter between the device and a wall socket.
  • When the device turns on, the LED will turn blue.

Step-2: Download The Setup Software

  • Connect your computer to the router and open a web browser.
  • Input the official My Cloud setup URL and press Enter.
  • Once the WD My Cloud page opens, select the operating system from the drop-down menu at the upper right end.
  • Download the Setup Software on your computer.

Step-3: Install The software

  • Go to the location where the Setup software is downloaded and open it.
  • When the My Cloud setup window opens up, click Get Started.
  • Read the WD license agreement, tick the checkbox, and click Next.
  • Following that, the software will display the connection method. Check if it is correct and select Next.
  • When the software detects the device, click Next and then the progress status will appear.
  • Next, enter the full name and email address to access the files outside your home.
