  • Take the WD My Cloud storage device out of the box. Set the Ethernet cable, power adapter, and user manual aside.
  • Take the Ethernet cable that came in the box and attach it to the My Cloud device’s Ethernet port. Attach the Ethernet cable’s other end to the router’s Ethernet port.
  • Connect the WD My Cloud 4TB device’s power adapter to the Power port on the rear side of the machine and the electrical outlet.
  • Wait until the LED glows steadily on the WD My Cloud device and then navigate to the ‘mycloud.com/hello’ web page on your mobile device’s web browser.
  • Tap 'Create account' and type the details in the First Name, Last Name, Email, Confirm Email, and Password fields. Tap Create Account.
  • The mobile device detects the My Cloud device and displays it on the browser screen. Tap Connect. Tap Share if you do not mind sharing the device information with WD.
  • If the mobile device does not detect the My Cloud device, the Let’s Find Your Device screen appears. Tap the ‘Find My Device’ button. The Enter Device Code appears.

  • Locate the WD My Cloud device’s user manual and look for the 9-digit code. Enter it in the 9-digit field on the screen and tap Search.
  • Now, the WD My Cloud device will be connected to your mobile device.

  • Navigate to the My Cloud official site and choose your product family. Click My Cloud.

How to Install My Cloud 4TB Hard Drive

  • First, connect an Ethernet cable to the Network port of the router and the Ethernet port of the My Cloud device. 
  • Next, you have to attach the power cord between the My Cloud device and the electrical outlet. 
  • Once the Power light turns to blue color, you can proceed to the software setup process. 
  • Launch the frequently used browser and then navigate to http://myclous.com/setup. 
  • Tap the Get Started button and wait till the ED device is recognized. 
  • After it is identified, select it and follow the prompts displayed on your screen to complete the setup procedure. 
  • Once the WD Sync installation is over, you have to select the folders that have to be synced. 
  • Once they are synced, you can close the setup window. 

How To Sync Windows To My Cloud Device

Check if you have downloaded the WD Sync on your Windows system. From the system tray, right-click on the WD icon and select the WD Sync option. Choose the Settings option from the pop-up menu and go to the Sync Folders section. Select the Add Device option from the drop-down list available next to the My Cloud Device option. Choose the My Cloud device from the list of devices displayed on the next screen. You can also sign into view all the My Cloud devices. Enter the credentials of the Cloud device you selected and tap the Sign In button. Now, select the files or folders to be synced and click the Next button. Follow the prompts and finish the setup procedure. 

How To Sync Mac To My Cloud Device

You can use the WD Sync app on your Mac system and sync your files to the device. Download the WD app and install it on your device after complying with the License Agreement. 

How to Use My Cloud Home Mobile App

  • Download the My Cloud Home app from the Play Store.
  • Comply with the User Agreement in the next step and allow access for the app to find the My Cloud device.
  • Once your device is identified, click the Connect button. Choose the Create Account option and key in the Email address and password for your device.
  • Make sure you have entered your first name and the last name and tap the Create Account option. 
  • Next, choose a network from the list of available networks and enter the security key. 
  • Click the Allow or Don't Allow option on the Allow Analytics screen.
  • Enable the Auto-Backup feature in the next step. The setup process is now complete.
