Western Digital My Cloud Mirror Setup

  • Unbox the Western Digital My Cloud Mirror drive by removing its outer protective cover.
  • Check if you have a Quick Installation Guide manual, an Ethernet cable, and a power adapter are present inside the drive box.
  • Use the power adapter to establish a power connection for the Western Digital My Cloud Mirror drive.
  • The LED on the Western Digital My Cloud Mirror drive begins to glow when you have established a connection between your wireless router and the drive using an Ethernet cable.
  • Go to your Mac computer and navigate to any one of the web browsers on it.
  • Access the WD My Cloud Mirror dashboard by filling the User and Password fields on the WD My Cloud Mirror login page.
  • Select English from the Choose Your Language drop-down menu. Select the checkbox next to the ‘I agree to the WD End User License Agreement’ option.
  • When you click the Continue button, the Getting Started window opens on the screen.

  • Use an Ethernet cable to make a connection between the Western Digital My Cloud drive and your wireless router.
  • Wait until the blue LED glows on the Western Digital My Cloud drive.
  • Go to your Mac computer, visit the official Western Digital website, and download the setup software for the Western Digital My Cloud drive.
  • The downloaded software is saved in the Downloads folder on your Mac computer.
  • Double-click the WD My Cloud Setup file. When you see the prompt message box on the screen, click the Open button.
  • In the WD My Cloud Personal Cloud Storage window, click the Get Started button on the main panel.
  • As soon as you see the Western Digital End User License Agreement window on the screen, select the checkbox next to the ‘I accept the terms of the License Agreement’ option and click the Next button.
  • Now, you have to click the Next button twice. When the ‘Set Up Your Personal Cloud’ window displays on the screen, type your full name in the First and Last Name fields, respectively.
  • Optional step - Complete the Email Address field with a valid email address.
  • After selecting the ‘Also, register WD My Cloud with this information’ option, click the Next button.
  • Click the Finish button when the ‘Congratulations! Your WD My Cloud is set up’ message is displayed on the screen.
  • Click the Continue button in the ‘Welcome to the WD My Cloud Installer’ window. Click the Continue button followed by the Agree button.
  • Check if you have selected the ‘Install for all users of this computer’ option and click the Continue button in the Select a Destination window.
  • Once you click the Install button, you can see the prompt message box on the screen. Type the administrator password for confirmation and click Install Software.
  • Click the Close button at the bottom end of the screen as soon as you see the ‘The installation was successful’ message on the screen.
  • In the Choose Your Device window, click the WD My Cloud drive icon.
  • Click the Sign In button in the Sign In Window. Select the checkbox next to the ‘Don’t show this message again’ option and then click the Start button. This will open the main interface of the WD My Cloud setup application on the Mac computer.

Western Digital My Book Live Setup

  • On your web browser, go to the official WD Learning Center page.
  • Select the WD My Book Live product to open the next window.
  • Select the Operating System of your computer from the For drop-down menu that is located at the upper end of the screen.
  • Click the Download Setup Software button to download the WD My Book Live setup file.
  • Double-click the WD My Book Live drive’s setup file and click the Get Started button on the main panel to start the setup.
  • Connect your Ethernet cable’s one end to the WD My Book Live drive.
  • The other end of the Ethernet cable needs to be plugged into your wireless router.
  • Wait until you see the LED glowing green on the front side of the WD My Book Live drive and then click Next on the computer to proceed.
  • Select the MyBookLive icon and click Next. Give the required information such as first name, last name, and email address in the Personal Cloud window.

  • After selecting the checkbox beside the ‘Also use this information to register My Book Live option, click Next.
  • Click the Finish button when the ‘Congratulations! Your My Book Live is set up’ message is displayed on the screen.
